On Tuesday, April 12th students at Coulterville Elementary School participated in National Teach Children to Save Day activities. Teach Children to Save is a national program sponsored by the ABA (American Bankers Association) Community Engagement Foundation that organizes banker volunteers to help young people develop a savings habit early in life. This year representatives from Coulterville Banking Center (Kim Reuscher, & Marie House) and First State Bank of Campbell Hill (Ryan Berry) visited Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade students. This year Kindergarten students learned about safe places to save their money, while 1st & 2nd grade students read the story “Sheep in a Shop” and learned about spending money and learned that by saving money they can make more expensive purchases. Approximately 50 students participated in the activities this year.
